I am also working on a compass restoration for a customer. The compass is a gimballed 1942 Navy Compass built by The Lionel Corporation. I have stripped the compass back to original bronze and given it a brushed finish and I will be building a new mahogany presentation box.

Update February 3, 2010: I have finished the compass box and installed the gimballed compass. I think the finished product came out very nice.
